ABOUT US

• BACKGROUND

  YDCP is a community center and hub of expertise in Tanga dedicated to supporting and rehabilitating children, youth, families, and communities living with disabilities. Founded in 2006 through a collaborative initiative between FPCT and Fida, the center was established to enhance quality of life through the following pillars:

  Inclusion:Promoting the dismantling of negative stereotypes, stigma, and attitudes that impede the participation of children and youth with disabilities in decision-making, education, healthcare, and other social spheres.

  Empowerment: Providing information, resources, and support that enable young people with disabilities to build confidence, cultivate self-worth, and develop their abilities.

  Support Systems: Fostering a sense of belonging and creating strong support networks among youth with disabilities through community-based programs and activities.
